Harddrive won't partition withing windows 2k/xp, says "Quit and disk utilities..."

Problem in XP and 2k on one machine (out of two with same software setup). The other machine had zero problems, but this one keeps saying to close stuff that is interfering with the format. Nothing that I know of is doing this, windows is a clean install a couple days old. I closed every possible thing open using alt+ctrl+del except for explorer.exe. Norton is installed but completely disabled. Like I said SAME setup on 2 computers, one worked, this one doesn't.

    Is there anything on this hard drive?


    Oh and on another note you have to be one of the most unlucky computer users I've ever run across. It seems everything keeps happening to you.

    That's what I thought. Grrrr!:rolleyes:

    Problem is fixed, I decided to give partion magic a try. Although this was a simple fix using this software, I am very careful using this program as it has destroyed entire contents of my system before. I only use it if I absolutely have to.
