5.1 speakers help

edited February 2004 in Hardware
Anyone knows which of these speakers systems delivers better sound quality especially in music? The speakers models are:Creative inspire t5400 and 5500.
note: t5400 hasnt got an external decoder like 5500.But i will put a sound blaster live!

That's hard to say. Just because the speakers are different models doesn't mean anything. What my ears hear isn't the same as what your ears hear.

Case in point: I have a pair of custom made stereo speakers

pair of Electro Bass 12" woofers RMS:500w
pair of Pioneer 3way midranges RMS:300w
    Pair of Piezo tweeters

My main amp blew so stoopid gave me a pioneer reciever about 100w per channel.

I crank it and i luv the sound, but stoopid says it doesn't sound right to him. The sound quality isn't clear the way it should be. Yet to me it sounds phenominal.

You'll have to go somewhere where both sets of speakers are setup, take your favorite CD and hear them yourself. That's the only way you'll find out which set is for you.

nebulous is right, sound quality is in the ear of the beholder.

on a sidenote, is there any reason that you are only looking at creative speakers? i am very happy with my logitech system, although i used to have a creative inspire 5100 which sounded iffy, becuase they were cheap.

    I Agree....

Pair of Logitechs z680's here and they are fantastic :D

If you go without a decoder I would personally use the Audigy with DTS and AC3 decoding on the fly and not SBLive.

If you go with a decoder then be sure to disable any decoding on the card, no point sending a decoded signal to a decoder :)

Umm, I think thats right :D
