Since I installed Winamp v5.x (currently 5.02) i keep losing the main window when i load it, but when i check to see if it's checked on, it says it is on. the playlist, eq, and library still is there. eventually after a few mins goes by the main window finally appears without me touching anything. anyone else have the same problem? is this a winamp bug? please let me know!

So winamp still sucks on any version past 2.9..... Guess that's why I stopped using it.

I've never encountered this problem. Hopefully someone else will have an answer for you.

I quite enjoy Winamp5. It looks and feels much nicer than 2, and I've never had any problems with it.

winamp 3 sucked, but 5 is better than 2.x as far as i'm concerned. maybe you're using a skin that is not totally compatible with winamp 5? I know you're gonna tell me you're using the default skin now lol

Just out of curiousity because I'm to lazy to go look...but isn't winamp 5 shareware now? Or is that something that was being propossed and got scrapped since they were bought out by whoever it was.

Yes it is shareware, but you are only paying for CD ripping.

I really like the media library of winamp 5 and I used it for a good couple of weeks just for that feature.

dbpoweramp is still my favorite player though, using that again now.

AOL, video file support and all the other needless junk is whats slowed it all down.

yeah, i also like winamp5 a lot. i have never encountered that bug, but are you on the default skin? it might be a skin you are trying to use or something of that nature . . .

I haven't used winamp since 2.whatever and I got my hands on itunes. But after this thread I thought I'd check out winamp again.....So I messed around with it for most of the day yesterday and I've gone back to Itunes it just works better.

That's my 2 cents on it.

You cant beat Winamp for the GUI and ease of use.

iTunes is... Well.. Its just not very PC is it?

ok since my last post i figured out how to get it back. when i load winamp and it just showed the playlist, when i clicked on the Winamp icon in the systray, then the rest of the windows loaded.... weird

also, i'm looking for a plugin which allows me to watch DIVX/XVID movie files in Winamp. i've found one for 2.9, but none for 5. does anyone know any plugins?

i believe that once you install the divx codec, you'll be able to watch a divx in winamp. at least that's how it works for me. maybe re-install divx?
