CD quality, C1/C2 errors etc.
Can anyone explain to me why my Pioneer DVD reader reports C2 errors on most of my burned CDs (Nero test), while my Plextor DVD writer reports none? How much influence does the burning speed have on the data quality? How bad are C2 errors?

Next your speed vs. quality question. There are a couple things to consider the first is that most CD's have a speed rating printed on them. If you are trying to write to them faster then they are rated for you'll usually end up with errors. The next issue is that even if your burner can handle a write speed of XX your pc may not be able to keep up with it. When that happens you'll get buffer overflow errors that may be the source of your C2 problem. Also consider that if you are doing anything else in the background say listening to music surfing dling over P2P software that your CPU speed will be slower.
So I'd recomend you try burning at about 4 or 8 times speed and see if you still get the problems. One last thing try a different brand of cd's not all are as compatibale with all players/writers some just work better. The quality/cost is one factor but so is the color.
