Checking IP using name of computer in command prompt - how?

How do I check the IP of a computer on my local network using the command prompt if I only know the computers name?

Ex.
My 2nd computer on network is called Nivellenz, how do I check its IP from my 1st computer called Nivellen.

(Of course I know what IP I set my computer to, I just want to know how I could check it, with just knowing its name :)
Does it have something to do with the "net" command?

Bah, I tried the ping command:
"ping nivellenz" and it came up with the ping as well as the IP - are there any more ways to do it?

That's the easiest and best way to do it. There are other ways but they are much more time consuming and involve special software that is essentially just doing the same thing for you.

If you pick and name and it resolves to an IP that's your best check becasue it tells you that the machine is active and also tells you that DNS is resolving correctly.
