Anyone recognize this file: ednaz.dll

edited February 2004 in Science & Tech
It got attached to my windows/system folder last night (Millennium) and trying to remove it from msconfig>>startup doesn't work. Google turns up nothing. I'm gonna zap it with DOS, but if anyone knows it to be important, please let me know.

You need help. You have spyware.

It's specifically being called @ start-up? Check the properties and see if any company information is listed. It could be a dependancy of a program.

But if google doesn't turn anything up, it must not be important :D

not necessarily true. Many trojans, viruses, and spyware programs install randomly named DLLs and executables.

    I was being sarcastic.

I've removed it, and got two "cannot find certain dll" type of messages at startup. I ran RegClean and that got rid of one of the messages. In what file would the other message be that tries to call the dll?

I ran them and RegClean and got rid of stuff, but some file still tries to call that dll on startup. I might just go to XP now.

Try downloading hijackthis, do a scan and check the item then click remove. Should stop it from loading on startup...
