I tried the demo last night. The graphics were decent; the physics were very impressive. It's not a run and gun. Enemies are tough and you kind of have to move through the jungle and take them in small groups or even better one at a time. It's good, but I don't think it's Doom 3 or Half-Life 2 good as some previews have stated.
yeah, i havent played it yet, and i know i prolly should, but fps's just have to have something catchy for me to play them. i imagine i will prolly install it this week or this weekend . . .
I tried the demo when it came out, didnt think much about it.... then got the latest PC gamer and read the review (95%), so I got the game and WOW!!!! This game rocks!!!!!!!!! I only had H2 and Guild wars in my sights for this coming year, but FARCRY is quite possibly one of the most enjoyable games I have played since Half-Life!
I heard the game was INCREDIBLE, except the enemies are so fricking hard, you can't think straight. Apparently, they can find you when you are completely concealed. It took 6 shotgun blasts to kill a guard, and 2 sniper shots to the head to kill the same type of enemy.
Ahhhh yeah, I should kick myself. The demo was mediocre but the retail game was quite amazing.
As Oudio stated, the game is pretty hard, even on normal skill (which is a nice change from other games where it's piss easy). I beat the game the other month but now I'm playing it again on 'Challenging'.

I really enjoyed the game, although I'm afraid it requires a more powerful rig.
I'm sure I will buy the game sooner or later, probably later, once I have a faster computer. The game is sweet, and I want to 100% enjoy it in the best possible graphics.
I think that Far Cry is going to be a great game for the Xbox. Seeings how there will be no Half-Life 2 I think that until Counter-Strike 2 comes out with the new HL2 engine Far Cry will be very deadly. Must never forget Halo2 though.....

The jungle combat is awesome. Definately the highlight of the game and the freedom to move around a huge island (like Tribes or something).
Otherwise the rest isn't anything special.
