Sata is installed, but I can't use it

edited March 2004 in Hardware
I have installed my Maxtor SATA HDD and it shows the drives which I partitioned, but when I try to put files onto the drives, it takes a REALLY long time. Sometimes it justs freezes and stops. Is there anyone else having this same problem.

The Maxtor is a 6y080mo

Thanks

Hm. Try to find another SATA drive and test it. I can't tell if its you SATA controller or teh drive itself.

Um. Flashing a new BIOS may help, and consult your motherboard manufacturer and maxtor, to see if this has happened before. i would love to help more, but I don't use SATA.
