I set the bundled HL games seperate because they are the problem - switching between 2D (menus) and 3D (game) screens.
I have the latest drivers for the vid card - 4. something, just DLd 'em.
HL is updated as far as it goes.

Windows Update included this in the Drivers section:
ATI_WIN_UPD.jpg

Anyone know what this is, where to find out, should I install it, will it mess things up?

I normally stay away from WinUpdate drivers, but their XP drivers for my Voodoo5 DID make it much better. No tools, but OpenGL worked.

It's just windows certified ATI drivers. They will be the bare drivers without most of the tweakable extra's that come with the real ATI drivers. Also it's going to be several version behind. So if you install it, it may or may not screw up your settings. But it'll definitely be older drivers that you are running.
