Need MAJOR help ASAP..

Not sure what you would call this, a virus, a bug, spyware or whatever.. But I have a serious issue right now..

3 days ago, I was sitting on the computer working in Photoshop and out of nowhere, BOOM some program called Golden Palace casino opens on my computer and shortcuts appear on my desktop.. Apparently it was somehow installed in the background without me ever instructing it to..

Then my homepage gets reset to something else, then I go to add/remove programs and see about 5 ad/spybot things installed... Then I notice my google toolbar is still installed, but it is gone from my browsers and some new one is installed.. CRAZY SHIT..

I uninstall everything, run SpyBot Search and Destroy and clean up everything else.. Reinstall google toolbar.. All seems fine..

That was 3 days ago.. Today about 15 minutes ago, I download new video drivers, reboot my computer.. Am resetting my gfx settings when bam, once again Golden Palace casino shortcuts appear and its now launching.. I have my google toolbar once again gone, my home page reset, and about 5 more ad shits installed in my programs folder..

WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON ?? Is this a virus ? I've ran search and destroy many times now, I've manually uninstalled everything in the programs list, I even ran msconfig and unchecked all this new crazy shit that just appeared there.. someone PLEASE help me here... I'm running XP Home if that helps..

I think I need a good registry cleaner or something, to go into my registry and get rid of some shit that must be still in there causing this stuff to install ?

ANy help appreciated, not sure what to do next.

i got the same crap the other day.
    i ran ad-aware and spybot.
spybot wanted to do stuff on a restart to be able to finish

also before running those I went into add/remove and there were some stuff in there that i removed, that had to do with that crap.
also check under program files to see if there are any folders with any crap and if there is an uninstall.exe in it to make certain.

after that I have had no problems.

    Good luck

Another thing to add, when running msconfig and giong to startup.. I unchecked like 10 fucking strange virus looking files loading on startup.. But when I rebooted, the were RECHECKED and apparently I'm thinking these have something to do with everything getting installed and fucked each time I reboot my computer..

How do I get rid of these fuckers permanetly ?

Berko, I did everything you did, exactly the same.. Spybot had to reboot tof inish... Upon rebooting and finishing all the shit pops up again.. It seems as long as I don't reboot everyhting is fine, but as soon as I reboot all the shit comes right back, which leads me to believe it is something in my msconfig startup thing I mentioned earlier.. I uncheck them, but they get checked again on reboot..

I've gone into program files and see folders for some of the shit that keeps getting installed, but it wont let me delete them because it says they are in use, upon going to task manager and ending all processes it still says they are in use.. This is pissing me off !

Kryyst I thought "spy-bot search and destroy" was one of the best ? At least thats what I've been told.. Are you saying it sucks ? And I should download ad-aware and run that instead ?

Well Spyware Nuker seemed to get rid of them... I just reran it and it came up with nothing.. I'm gonna try rebooting now to see if everything comes back like it always does, keeping my fingers crossed
