Task manager processes...which to end task

Im in the process of cleaning up my windows boot. There are a host of processes in the task manager after windows xp loads fully. There are a few Im unsure of what they are. And Im seeking to have as few processes as possible..... here is the list
crss.exe
ccevtmgr.exe
ctfmon.exe
Isass.exe
services.exe
smss.exe
sstray.exe
can anyone tell me what programs use these/are these. And or which ones I can do without.

as for what you can do without, none of them really.
If you want to know what they do, google each one of them.

assuming you are using XP.there are a ton of services you can do without. go here http://www.blackviper.com/index.html and check out his Windows Sevices Config's. this guy has put alot of work into this. great site!
