Im in the process of cleaning up my windows boot. There are a host of processes in the task manager after windows xp loads fully. There are a few Im unsure of what they are. And Im seeking to have as few processes as possible..... here is the list

crss.exe
ccevtmgr.exe
ctfmon.exe
Isass.exe
services.exe
smss.exe
sstray.exe

can anyone tell me what programs use these/are these. And or which ones I can do without.

    All legit

as for what you can do without, none of them really.

If you want to know what they do, google each one of them.

I assumed it was lsass.exe when I read his post...just because all the other words were small letters I figured he goofed since almost every machine has the lsass task running on it.
