I was bored so I was browsing the logs on my firewall... I found these smattered through out the log files.. there are many more...

I also found this...

The Wireless Client table below displays Wireless clients Connected to the AP (Access Point).
Connected Time MAC Address

Top one is my sisters dell but the bottom is an unrecongized mac... I guess its time to lock down the network.. as there is only 1 wireless machine in the house.. one of my neighbors is up to no good... Its not a war driver as on one side of the house is ocean and the other is carports all the way to the street for a hundred yards..

Mac filtering, 128 bit wep, SSID broadcast disable, switch to channel 11.

If you can use TKIP, use it.

im on channel 11 now.. But I guess its time to lock down... I left it kinda open cuz my neighbors are all mostly old people.. There are 3 other wireless networks I can pick up in the area but only 1 was someones personal lan.

Seems a little excessive to go through all that to block one person. Just block the MAC address on the WAP. Though using WEP is always recommended.

Most consumer wireless routers don't let you block a MAC address specifically.

The WRT54G does, but that's a rarity. Most are just "Block all except...."

    dlink 614+

which does the 22mbps, which was more than enough for the sister. Im hardwired to the network, she just uses the network for email, chat, and surfing.. im the bandwidth hog as I play games etc..

It also has the features Thrax mentioned.. I can lock macs out, or lock them in

What firewall are you using? I'm looking to add one to my network besides ZoneAlarm.
