cpu temps

edited April 2004 in Hardware
hi, i have the prescott 2.8e with 1mb cache. for the cooling of the cpu i have the normal intel heatsink with fan that comes inside the box. the temperatures that i get thought are no less than 45 c. when is on idle it has a temp. of 46 and when it works it gets up to 60 c. i don`t think there is a problem with the airflow inside the case as i have the thermaltake v7000a with 5 fans inside. the motherboard temp is 30 - 33 c. does the heasink have a problem?? or this temps are normal for a prescott. please help me .

well, apprently the proscott's are THAT hot, but if you wanna get an accurate reading, i would pickup an external probe, like this, http://www.extremeoverclocking.com/reviews/misc/CompuNurse_1.html

i wouldnt rely on the readings urs getting on the motherboard.

ps: ditch that intel heatsink ;) , get a thermalright , you will love it

I've just got me one 'o these, really strange looking and I never thought it would fit in my case but I really like it. Nice and cool too, and the speed dial it comes with keeps you sane when the noise gets a little too much.
