Going to watercool this summer.

Well, citrix already helped me out a bit but I wanna know what everyone else has to say.

I would like to build a high quality (doesn't need to be the leetest though :P) watercooling system.

First of all, I wanna get 3 blocks (CPU/nbridgechipset/GPU). I will be putting the new stuff inside a Lian Li PC-75 case and will have an Antec 550W psu.

I'll be using the same system as below except I'll probably have a gig of Corsair PC4000 (non PRO) soon after I watercool.

So I have some good parts semi-chosen but I wanna know where to buy and any other basic or essential things I need to know about watercooling :D

Thanks!

Looks like a complete kit! Not a bad price either. The one I had priced out was over 300$.

Is that brand good? I guess I will look at some reviews and stuff. The only thing I've heard of is the Black Ice Pro radiator lol.

Wow, that Asetek kit is not bad. BUT if I were You, I'd get everything separately. If I lived in teh America my shopping list would consist of:
    Dtek Whitewater
Eheim 1250 (or Hydor L30 if you want to go cheaper, or maybe a Swiftech MCP 12v pump, they did good in tests)
Some NB and GPU block (dont know the good ones right now)
Black Ice Extreme (or Pro if You want to go cheaper)
    Tygon or ClearFlex tubing

Kits are for lazy people! :P

But.. after viewing and examining that Asetek site.. I must admit I'm kinda drooling over that kit :loco: It's sweeeeeeeet

What is "tygon" ... I know what the clearflex is but dunno about tygon.

I was lookin at the Hydor L30 for my pump. If I got the kit from FrozenCPU (it's a Swiftech kit) It would come with the Swiftech MCP 12v pump.

I have time to read up on stuff tho :D

Tygon = elite tubing for rich people :p

Actually I'd buy it, but it is only sold in the US and getting a bunch of it over to Europe is pricey.

Does the "other stuff" resist kinking aswell... or is this the best stuff to get period.

I'd try and get the Tygon or clearflex. The stuff @ Home Depot isn't too bad, but it will kink up on tight bends. i had to use a whole load of zip ties to prevent it from kinking closed.

So ClearFlex is good aswell.. I found some places with that also. It's cheaper too.

Ok well... I slightly changed my mind.
I changed cases and decided that when I DO upgrade my RAM I'm gonna go ahead and spend 10 bucks more to get the gig of Corsair XMS PC-4000PRO instead of the Platinum.

I think I might try out the Lian Li PC-6070 Quiet case w/ a Antec TRUEBLUE 480W psu and get all the bells and whistles for that. The one I'm getting will come w/ a window, a 120mm and 92mm fan cutout and Dual UV cold cathodes + fully sleeved UV blue wires.

As for the actual WC setup I'm gonna go Swiftech but I'm just gonna buy everything seperately... I'll use a Hydor L30 pump and a Swiftech Fill and Bleed kit (instead of resevoir as I understand it). For a radiator I'll get a Black Ice Extreme w/ the little fan shroud thingy and a 120mm Panaflo fan. The ClearFlex tubing should be fine for my little setup.

So now... SCHOOL needs to end and I need to go start working for my dad, lol.

EDIT : fix fan size =P

Lian Li cases own, my next case will be a Lian Li for sure :D
For the Black Ice Extreme it only works with 120mm fans. Unless you plan to make a shroud that kinda enlarges the 92mm fan into a 120mm fan and attach that to the BIE. Get a 120mm and just throw it on the BIE.

I suppose You could save on the Fill and Bleed kit and do what I do, I have an air trap that also doubles up as a water filler. And If I need to bleed my kit (empty it out of water), I simply take a big vase, put the pump in it, and disconnect its front tubing, then the water goes like a waterfall into the vase, and its all empty quick :p

Oops! Yup, It's 120mm... In my little spreadsheet I got everything priced out and stuff and sure enough, I even wrote down 120mm... Wasn't thinking when I wrote that last night :P

    Setup sounds nice!
A few things just. If you can, get an Eheim pump instead, trust me. As for tubing, i actually use Eheims own tubing which is superb for it's price. I payed like $2/meter for it and i class it almost as good as thick-walled tygon.

Yeah, I will be changing what I think I want like every week... so who knows wut I'll actually get when I DO have the money. This week I'm diggin' the Asetek Waterchill kit... I've tried building similar setups seperately and for once it's actually more expensive than buying a kit.
