Strange Heat Issue with CPU

I know this is going to be difficult to answer, but I'm hoping that maybe someone else had the same situation.

My CPU temp will fluctuate 10 degrees at startup. Sometimes when I turn it on, it'll be in the low 40's. Other times I turn it on and it's in the upper 40's, low 50's. The case temp doesn't change in relation.

It seems that whatever the computer temp is when I turn it on is the range it stays in. If it's in the low 40's, no matter how much I stress it, it stays in the low to mid 40's. If it starts in the upper 40's, low 50's, it stays up in that range.

I'm measuring the temp based on MBM. The CPU fan is always working no matter which temp it starts at. There are no different programs running when the temp changes.

Anyone ever hear about this? Could it just be a MBM glitch and no really fluctuating?

The Abit moniter is reading the same temps as MBM. I just can't figure out what causes the 10 degree difference.
