What is an OD and an ID hose, which are better?

Are reservoirs necessary? How big should one be? What ones are better? Is it bad to over or underdo reservoir size?

Is there any other important information I am missing in my posts? Sorry if it seems like a lot.

OD and ID stand for "inside diameter" and "outside diameter" - they aren't types of hoses, they are merely measurements.

I'll leave the reservoir questions to the real experts......

I guess I might have meant what types of connections are there? Barbs, compression, etc. I don't really know anything about 'em.
