I personally love MMORPGs. They are my favorite genre. I'm very interested in what You guys think is the best MMORPG. Sorry if I haven't included some other MMORPGs but I think I hit all the popular ones right now. I myself played DAoC, Anarchy Online, SWG. (and some others but they werent even partially as good as the three I just mentioned)
I would also like to thank Versello - for he was the one who introduced me to my first ever Massive Multiplayer game - DAoC. - and made me waste endless hours on them
I'm starting the vote with my biggest love of all - Dark Age of Camelot PWNS ALL!!!! RvR FOR THE WIN!

I haven't played in a MMORG yet past the point of beta testing. I just find it hard to accept that I drop $70cdn for a game then still have to pay another $15cdn a month for the right of playing it. I just don't have the attention span required to get into it to see my investment come to fruition. Besides other then having to deal with annoying real people all you end up doing is running around killing shit or making things. There are plenty of games that do that without having to deal with other peoples Bullshit who have some mutated sense of self worth that leads them into thinking that because they spend 8hrs a day playing this game they have the right to make other peoples lives miserable.

However I'm looking forward to the release of the Warhammer Fantasy RPG MMorG.

Anyway I'll stick to free Multi-player games on Xbox live like Crimson skies and leave my role-playing to the pen and paper kind.

I tried EQ, sucked... then Earth and Beyond... sucked... the Planetside... this game rocks.... I just got tired of paying $12 a month and letting other games slip by.

I don't know about EQ - it's a MMORPG classic and many people like it. I played Earth and Beyond beta and it indeed sucked.
I just renewed for Anarchy Online a week ago, the game really is fun!

I played a bit of the Guild Wars demo and was well impressed, gonna get that when its out. I like the idea of not having to pay a monthly fee so I dont feel the need to play constantly to get my moneys worth. Been playing an open beta of one called Risk Your Life to try and fill the gap Guild Wars left.

Never heard of Guild Wars, but I did some googling. Wow, I'm impressed. In terms of environment, really makes world of warcraft seem a little...damn

ok, i know this thread is really old, but i just joined the forum here..

i have to say DAoC is the best.. i've been playing for 2.5 - 3yrs now.. my first online game ever.
since then, i've watched my fiancee go through countless mmorpg's only to return to daoc.
i've also played ShadowBane, CoH and some others not worth remembering.

may play WoW b/c my ex-roomie said he would buy me a copy as a "late b'day present" (my bday was in april) lol
