Holy fricken cow I like this:

What's your take? Every review I have seen has said great things, but then again they were all links from the manufacturers site so I wouldn't guarantee that biases aren't present.

I still dont see the big deal PSUs dont make much noise anyways!

but the point is I want ZERO noise, and these seem to be VERY quiet and still rate over 500 watts which I would prefer. Of course any psu (with temp sensing fans) would probably be a little quieter with water cooling taking away the case heat, but this might be a nice step in quietness too. Plus it is 75+% efficient, where most psus are 68-75%.

vagga, you will never get zero noise i'm afraid. But you can get a rig which you won't hear. I wouldn't trust those psu's at 600w on full load 24/7. Even if they work, the heat they will create would be tremendous. Can't argue with physics.

except that they wouldn't be under full load ever, it would just be a buffer zone of workable and crash, plus the pc would be wc so it wouldn't draw hardly if any heat into it, and also they are supposed to be 75+ efficient.

The radiator in a loop uses ambient temperatures to cool the water, so yes. A warm psu would get your cpu warmer.

NEUUUUOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!, My apps crashed to desktop, over working my pc too much! I don't want to rewrite everything, but I'll try.

    reasons for abandoning silenx:
    1. new
    2. debateable on performance
    3. which one is legit?
    4. buy only through company
    5. expensive
    6. copy of other brand?
    7. confused about the whole thing

new product i would get as of now:
    1. Enermax Noise Taker 470 watt

    places to buy:
    1. Googlegear (i hate saying zipzoomfly or abbr.)--- http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=270318
    2. Newegg--- http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=17-103-446&depa=0

reason why i don't like enermax:
    website:
    1. slow
    2. changed?
    3. shipped across seas for business saving, employee screw offs?
    4. Chinese, i shiver at the sound of that

I will stick with Enermax, though. It will be a nice test between Antec, sort of.

The Fortron Source 530W from Newegg at $80 or so is probably the best psu under $190. It's near silent as well and it's not even mildly warm, even under massive load.

that was one of the debates, some silentx psu's were maybe copy cats of fortron selling under a different name.

I'm running the Thermaltake 480W Silent PurePower. It has 2 fans, 1 is fully adjustable to keep it quiet. And to crank it up when gaming. My cpu & case fans are the only thing i hear on my pc. So it is a quiet psu. My next pc I'm building, I'll get the psu with the cool blue light that shows through the side window. That's in the proccess now. Must find time for modding, blowhole in top of case, custom cable coverings, and maybe some custom painting. etc. I love doing it, just to find time is the prob.

This PSU should get zero noise but not the most powerful I have seen.

    Not cheap approx £140

I don't need this psu anymore, I have since got an Enermax Noisetaker 470 watt. It's PERFECT! A little too much wiring, but that's better than not enough. But it is in an older system, if it were in a newer system I would be happier for the wires.

The enermax has 1 80 mm and 1 92 mm fan. Enermax says they have a thermal sensor but I don't know if it really works because the manual says fan speed adjusts according to the load. There is also a knob on the back that you can further adjust the speeds. So... the total speed vs noise is based on the combination of 2 things, load and manual setting. Atleast this is how I understand it. The fans start out on full power for just a second, and definitely have the capability of shoving some air out of the case, but after that second it it 100% silent enough for me, and I am EXTREMELY PICKY about noise. Noisetaker is my new favorite PSU! I would beable to test this noise thing out better if I could just replace my noisy WD harddrives, THEY ARE WAY TO NOISY. Maxtor and Seagates are silent enough, WAY quieter than WDs. Note that the psu was silent enough for me with the fan setting at highest, but if harddrives were replaced I may hear it on high.

    Only legitimate downsides may include:
1---The fact that the wires are pretty solid, which is a good thing, but harder to handle at first.
2---The other reason is that it only has 1 separate 12volt power plug for the video card, and the newest ones apparently are going to start showing up with 2. This is not needed however, its an Enermax luxery.
3---Oh I guess if the wires are too much maybe they should make the kind that you can unplug from the psu itself, like a couple other psus do, this is the only thing I would ever want more of, as of now.
