How Do I Save All My Email To Keep It? (Outlook 2003, IMAP)

edited May 2004 in Science & Tech
I have an email addy that will be deleted soon and have TONS of email on it in tons of different folders. In fact, I probably have 1000% the storage that I'm supposed to be using.

Anyway, the fun has come to an end and I'm going to be leaving so they'll delete my account in the near future - how can I save all my email? If it was a pop3 or if it was all downloaded to my computer I would be set but it's IMAP and a lot of stuff is just saved on the IMAP server so if I'm not connected I can't view some of the emails or pictures/attachments and stuff.

Microsoft Outlook 2003 has archive and backup and a bunch of other options but I'm thinking that even if I backup everything, if Outlook hasn't downloaded the complete message from the server, it won't back it up either. So how can I get it to save all of my email from the server and back it up so that everything is on MY drive and when they close my email account I can either archive it or go through it all and put it in my new email addy account when I get one?

Thanks in advance! (i wonder how long til this gets moved to jeep geeks)

are you accessing the imap folder through outlook or are you accessing it through a web appliance like some sort of PHP site?

If you are accessing it through Outlook you should be able to just drag the emails off the server and put them into a folder in outlook which will copy the message.
