Gonna build another machine based for folding but will be good enough to play games... I may even let my dad use it for his computer :P who knows? hehe

It'll be connected through a KVM w/ 2 other computers so I won't need to buy a bunch of stuff...

I plan on getting this atm though:

Antec Solution Series black ATX Mid-Tower w/350W PSU

MSI K8T Neo FIS2R K8T800
AMD Athlon64 3000+ 512Kb L2 Cache

2x256Mb Geil Ultra Series PC3200 Platinum

Western Digital 120Gb 8Mb Cache S-ATA

Albatron Geforce FX5700P 128Mb 128-bit DVI/TV-Out

Lite On 52x32x52 CD-R/W black
Mitsumi 3.5" Floppy black!!! :P

That's it... It should be a purty decent machine for folding I would think :)
I will use the money I get from selling the dual Xeon boards to get this machine so It may come in pieces hehe :P

    Looks great!

The 2 parts i would change though would be the memory and the videocard. I would try to get some CH5 based memory instead. Corsair 2700LL is CH5 and they are pretty cheap. I have them and they fly at tight timings. For the videocard, i would get a Ati 9600XT instead. But that's just my 2 cents.

get the 9600xt instead of the 5700 o only good Nvidia card is the 5900

Hmm... I'll have to think real hard about getting an ATI card :P

What if I were to get this...

Corsair XMS TWINX 512Mb (2x256) PC-3200 - I think that would be just fine

    then for the vcard...

    Sapphire Radeon 9600PRO 128Mb 128-bit DVI/TV-Out

I think all of that would good for a folding machine, it would also allow occasional gaming if I have friends over or something, lol.

If those memory are the LL version, yes. Otherwise, no.
The XT version of the 9600 is so much better i'm afraid.

Wait 2 weeks with the videocard as the prices will be slaughtered as soon as the new ones comes out.

Well... I probably won't sell the board within the next couple weeks so I will have changed my mind a few times or yes... the prices will have dropped.

Ok... All of you have convinced me otherwise but Citrix just told a great bunch of information so...

I have decided that I will build an Opteron machine.

    It'll consist of:

    1 AMD Opteron 148 2.2Ghz 1Mb L2 Cache
    1 ASUS SK8N nForce3 Pro150
1 Corsair XMS TWINX 1Gb(2x512) PC3200LLPT ECC Registered
    1 ATI Radeon 9800PRO 128Mb 256-bit
    1 WD Raptor 36.7Gb 10k RPM

    :)

Gotta get sellin those boards! Citrix also hooked me up w/ a nice dual processor forum that I can try to sell at :D

you'll want more than the 350w psu, especially with the opteron machine

i'd say with that setup, 480+ would be ideal

We'll have to see... Citrix said it "should" work... If not, alls I have to do is get a bigger PSU.
