Help! My PC Is Attacking A Web Site.

Hello there,

Recently, after I performed the LiveUpdate of the Norton Internet Security (NIS), my PC was blocked and I got the Security Alert of High Risk whenever I browse a certain web site. The message said that NIS had detected and blocked an intrusion attempt. The intrusion signature was "URL_Directory_Traversal" and my PC was the Intruder. I was unable to visit the same web site until I did the NIS configuration to exclude the "URL_Directory_Traversal" signature and this will, I think, turn my PC to be vulnerable to attacks of the same knid. I would like to know if there are other ways to solve this problem. Any input is greatly appreciated.

No. Does it help? What's your opinion?

ok 1st thing you need to do is download this app.

    http://www.safer-networking.org/

after installing, run the application and update it.
    and run a full scan/repair

I'd also recommend getting ad-aware. Yes it helps, dramatically. Every active piece of spyware on your machine is slowing down your internet connection. Because it's tracking where you go and reporting back your browsing habbits.

OK, I downloaded and installed the "Spybot - Seach & Destroy" and I ran a full scan of the system, but it didn't seem to help. I beleive that it's not an issue of the Spy/Adware. I then configured the NIS according to the instructions from Symantec, but it didn't help. It seems that the only way to enable getting into the specific Web site is excluding the NIS Intrusion Detection Signature "URL_Directory_Traversal".

Thank you all for the help.
