Oops, I got my dual slot 1 asus board today, but the 400mhz P2 xeons I had that I thought were going to fit don't! I guess they were slot 2's! Am I right?

*yagga smashes his head against the wall repetitively hoping someone has goofed up more.

btw I thought I told you to buy slot 2 mobo's off ebay... and you still bought some slot 1 mobo?

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=44941&item=3481542483&rd=1

Too bad that other mobo I mentioned isn't there anymore. That was a fine mobo. All I can find is this one now (link).

As for doubting goods off ebay, as long as the seller has a good rating, 99.9% of the time the goods will work.

You're going to have a hella time trying to find any online store selling a dual xeon slot 2 mobo.

Well, whatever course of action you take, good luck. I just won an awesome dual socket 370 mobo off ebay (cost me an arm or two unfortunately) and bought two P3 866's a few days ago.

ok, now I wonder... I can just stick two identical speed/type cpus into a dual slot 1 correct? I don't NEED any special matched or designed set right? Basically I am probably going to get the same cpu from two different places, this is all good I assume.

so the product codes being different aren't going to colide and stop its dual workieness, correct?

    examples of 3 codes:
    BX80526U667256ESL3ND
    BX80526U667256ESL3KW
    BX80526U667256ESL3SL

What do these mean? Just the series or time period of manufacturing? Or maybe where manufactured?
