E-Mail Sticking In OutBox
This is a post on behalve of a friend
He is using Outlook Express 6 with Windows XP and has Norton Anti Virus.
He has 5 E-mails stuck in his OutBox which sends each time he checks his mail, But they stay in his Outbox and don't go to his Sent folder, when closing Outlook Express it says you have 5 E-mails to be sent.
He's tried deleting them but they won't and he's tried moving them to Draft folder, They don't move but just copy to the draft folder.
He also tried disabling his Norton Anti Virus but its still the same.
The E-mails are actually Sending as I'm receiving them !! ha But they are sticking in his OutBox and not going in his Sent Items
Any advice greatly appreciated !!

i would try a few things.
1- delete the account and recreate it.
2- make sure you have the latest updates for your OS and IE/OE
3- just remove Norton AV, reboot and see if the problem is still there.
Using OE6 with Norton Antivirus or McAfee products
If you have already installed the SP1 for OE6, this problem may still occur when the following conditions are met. First, you have Norton Antivirus 2003 or 2002 installed. Second, you have "Scan incoming Email" and "Scan outgoing Email" turned on. Note that this may also be true when you use McAfee software products. To prevent this problem when you use NAV and Outlook or Outlook Express, follow the steps below to turn off e-mail scanning.
Quit Outlook or Outlook Express.
Start Norton AntiVirus
Click Options. If a menu appears when you click Options, click Norton AntiVirus. The Norton AntiVirus Options dialog box appears.
In the Internet section, click Email.
Click to clear the "Scan incoming Email" and "Scan outgoing Email" check box.
Click OK and close NAV.
He could try opening up the emails and redirecting where they are going so that the To: is back to himself. Just to see if they are actually being sent or not.
I had the same problem years ago, I am pretty sure that I deleted the account and rebuilt it. not sure if that helps, but that is my 2 cents.
Oh so now I'm actually expected to read what I'm quoting...Sheesh what type of a world is this coming to
Haha... You have no idea how many times I've misread information in emails at work and confused the hell out of the receiving party. It's quite funny.
