What are your opinions on the NVIDIA nForce3 250 chipset in reference to the VIA VIA K8T800.

Possibly lookin at going 64.

    It seems that both chipsets are quite good however the K8T800 will edge out the nForce3 in most benchmarks. Are you looking at an opteron/athlon fx or athlon 64 setup?

    Athlon 64 , don't have the bucks for the others

    Make sure to get an older stepping of the 3200. Otherwise, the cache will be halfed. A64 S754 will be moved to a more economic line with only half the cache to make the manufacturing cheaper and more profit to be made. I have seen what difference the cache does, and it's plenty in 3D at least. S754 will be the new "Duron". Stock up on those "old" cpu's while you can.

    hmm... bad news for us? What will that effect? Just the regular 64's?
