theres noway u can fry a P4. unless u do some voltage mods and crank up the vcore.

get urself a nice Thermalright heatsink and you can OC till the cows (icrontic that is) come home

i cant fricking overclock my CPU, dunno why.

2800+, locked. I adjust the FSB in the BIOS, but It REFUSES to boot up. BIOS wont even load up. i do have aggressive memory timings though

So my P4 will last as long as i want it to, even if i have it o/c ed at 3 GHz or higher? I only raised the vcore a little bit, two notches i think i forget the exact numbers

Oh and also i was running at around 39-41 degrees idle and about 49 sometimes even 50 during gameplay, is that jsut because of the generic heatsink? My usual temps are around 36 idle and 45 or below in games

get a nice thermalright heatsink with a a nice 80/90mm fan and ur set! i bet u can do more than 3ghz with that.

I can do more the 3 GHz without a new heatsink i just stopped because i was unsure if i should continue, and i cant find any thermalright heatsinks around where i live and im not old enough to buy off the internet. What should i get?

Dont stop, go as high as possible until your computer has stability issues, then get up the voltage, and repeat, also sometimes the Vdimm voltage causes stability problems when oc'ing cpu, so might wanna try upping that also if you ever do have stability issues. That's from my experience. Or Turambar, ya should just install MSN messenger, add Citrix and send him messages all the time about oc'ing. :P
Best heatsink would be the most expensive Thermalright all copper heatsink.

One issue im having is that my sound no longer works when i exceed 2.57GHz is it because i have onboard and could i get a sound card and have no more sound problems?

Well i just got a new heatsink. Its a Zalman 7000A ALCU and it seems to be working really good im down to 34 degrees already
