HELP Me Plz!

hey,
i have just recently brought a new xp computer. I dont no that much bout computers but i do no sum. This morning i tried to turn my computer on but it didnt work instead it said something about needing a system disk?! plz plz plz help. it would mean so much to me

    Sounds like your hard-drive was wiped...

    Do you have the restore disks that should have come with your computer?

    I'm sure that message shows up in the black screen, just seconds after you power on right?

    Ok, The bios of the system, checks for the bootsector so that your windows can start. That bootsector is on the harddrive and if the bios is set to boot from something else, eg the diskdrive, you will get that message. Now, since you probably don't really know what a bios is, or how to get there, i would suggest that you contact a friend or something that have done this before before you make things worse. But, pay attention while your friend do this so that you learn. That's the way all of us started computing knowledge. Welcome to Icrontic :)

    make sure u dont have a floppy disk in ur floppy drive.

    Yea floppys in hte drive make no boot.
