windows 98 help

i recently added a second hard drive with my running hard drive using win98 but wen i start it up it says i need a boot disk, so i put in da floppy and it says reboot with cd rom support and i click on it, it then goes on to mdos n i type C: and any other things i type says C: not responding or sumthin and gives me 3 options abort,retry and fail..wut should i do?

    Could be a couple things. First and most likely you don't have the jumbers correct on the drives and it's identifying the new hard drive as your primary drive in which case it's not seeing your propper c drive.

    Assuming that is the problem and you haven't fdisked your original hard drive you need to take out the drive and make sure the jumper on it is set to slave.

    Then you should be able to boot up without a floppy, get to windows and then fdisk and format your second drive. Which should then be drive letter D and your CDrom will then become E.

    If you have for some reason killed your primary drive then you need to fdisk both drives format /sys the primary master and format the slave drive and re-install everything.
