Wireless Networking problem
hey guys, haven't been here for such a long time
anyway, i've got a problem with my wireless networking on my laptop
the thing is i cant seem to share files or view other computers in the network. i can connect to the network and surf, but cant see others in explorer. i cant even ping them. any idea?
ive tried bridging the LAN and WLAN, but that only causes more problems. at one point of playing with the settings, i managed to see others in win explorer but cant access them. some error pops-up about not authorized or not available. but my other pc - PC1 can connect and see PC2.
hope someone can help me out here. thanks.

is each computer sharing atleast 1 directory?
are all of your computers running windows xp?
now for your answers:
yes
yes
and... yes
the other 2 PCs are working fine on the network - internet, file/print sharing, LAN games
just the WLAN on my laptop thats giving me a headache. tried to match all the settings but still no-go.
are the IPs being assigned by the router.. like via DHCP?
are you sure you are connected to your router and not an insecure neighbors router? (you can check "connected devices" in the routers control panel for that)
what kind of router do you have?
yes - DHCP server is enabled on router
yes - very sure cause i changed the SSID
router is netgear websafe router, and the WiFi AP is an accton i believe.. its a stand-alone AP with the antenna sticking out. could this be the problem cause the AP is really old, got it free from a friend!
another thing, all IP on each device is auto cause of DHCP
the thing that boggles me is that the laptop can go on the internet, it just cant view other computers in the network.. weird
Also, can you hook your laptop into a wired connection and see if you can fileshare that way?
oh yeah, the ip should be the same cause of dhcp - i didnt check tho
anyway, thanks man.. will update
