Which switch?
I'm going to buy one of these 3 8-port switches soon, anyone have any experiences with either of them?

I guess right now i'm leaning towards the first, but purely on looks. Does buffer memory/MAC address table make much difference?

Hmm, those switches aren't from your usual heavy-hitter companies (ie D-Link, LinkSys, etc.), so I can't really comment on any experience with them, but if you'll be doing a lot of data shifting, you'll want buffer memory... otherwise there's no descernable difference you'd notice in a home network with a couple comps.
I'm a big fan of Netgear's switches. If you're looking for 8 ports, check this one out:

I've used many Netgear products, and I've never had problems with any of them. That price will be well worth it for the reliability. Good luck!
Ya netgear is generally good. I have that same switch at work on my desk but it makes a high-pitched squeeling noise. Unlucky me.
Anyways, Satchmo, any of those switches you have your eyes on will work fine for home use.
