Has anyone tried making a Windows XP install CD that has SP2 built in? I have been trying to do this but all the CDs I make fail due to the Windows Installtion program not finding some files on the CD - But they are on it! I've tried using AutoStreamer v1.0 as well as doing it the manual way. Wasted 2 CDRs so far. Any ideas?

Nope haven't tries mainly because I have no desire to install SP2. Also a good rule of thumb is always burn on R/W media first so you don't go wasting a ton of blanks.

But as to your exact problem don't you have to have a corporate or professional version to do that?

    Kryyst
I believe that any Windows XP install CD (not PC recovery CDs) can be slipstreamed to any service pack. Yeah lazy me couldnt be bothered to find my CDRWs  at the time of burning.

Also, just out of interest, why do you not have any desire to install SP2?

On account of SP2 causing issues with some software in particular anything involving VPN's and firewalls. I need vpn tunnells for work so I don't particularly feel like screwing around with them just because M$ can't get their shit together in the first place. I realize there are some patches forthcoming to fix some of the problems but 1 day of no connection is 1 week of headache for me.

Can I integrate java back into windows xp even if it has sp2 integrated into it?

And the other thing I am wondering... Does sp1 and/or 2 contain all their previous minor critical updates? Or is there a way I can integrate them into the cd as well? (So I can have ZERO (yay!) updates to do when I install XP, atleast for now)

Actually, how much can you do with one of the streamers? I am wondering this because if I could I would like to set up the install cd to automatically install java (just the basic sun java or whatever will let me run things such as yahoo games), and I would like to have the user accounts and what not automatically created so there is very minimal setup. I could even have something like MS Office installed! Is that possible with one of these? It would be like I'm my own manufacturer, hehe.
