DFI 685 PE No sound

edited August 2004 in Hardware
Irecently turned off my computer to try and put another hard drive in and when I turned back on I had no SATA drive and when I subsequently reloaded windows XP into another drive found that the sound chip (cmedia) had dissapeared, when trying to load the drivers (from the CD, DFI and CMEDIA) it said I did not have the cmedia chip on the computer.
Help please somebody !!!!

Nope checked all the BIOS settings and the only one that refers to the sound chip is set to auto (off/auto choices).
    Anybody else got any ideas.
