Hey,
I took off the AMD thermal pad so that I could begin OC'ing, anyway
long story short my CPU stuck to the heatsink, now I know what u are thinking,
2 much thermal paste but I applied a razor thin layer on the CPU and it still sticks what gives anyone know about this problem?, anyone else have this problem?

ps: 3 three rows of my pins are now slightly bent!

Ehh....what thermal paste did you use? You didn't use any 2-compound stuff i hope, cause then you'll never get it off. As for the pins, they are very easily bent, but it's just as easy to bend back. But be careful though. I use a needle and push/pull each pin back.

no no this was a extremely thin layer of Thermal paste and it happened with the OEM thermal Pad that AMD puts on there as well. So nobody else has this problem here?!?!? thats really odd hmm cuz I have built quite a few machines in the past and nothing like this has ever happened!

So if your heatsink sticks to your Processor..then how are you supposed to get it off after the Gooooo cures.. ?

So ....could you use like..some sort of paint styled remover, or gasket remover??? haha...just thought...i'm wondering just in case i have the same problem with my a64 when i get the water cooled system.

If you can, run the processor for like 5 or 10 minutes before removing the HS. If you try to do it cold, it really sticks badly most of the time.

Probably explains why I have never had a problem... My computers only go down when I have to play with hardware, and heatsinks are usually still hot when I go a playin' Few burnt fingers too :)

Haha. I know that one all too well.

Yeah, if you put the paste on and only run the computer for a few days, it generally doesn't get stuck after it's been cold. But once the stuff has a few months to "cure," hot diggity it's hard to remove when it's cold.

I just switched CPU coolers, the Zalman's dont have the sticking problem and the CPU runs that much cooler I checked the AMD site they suggest wiggleing back and forth until you break the suction, sounds lame and i tried it with the stick AMD cooler and it never worked for me,
