AGP Slot problem

edited October 2004 in Hardware
So I recently changed my case due to cooling issues. I got a Maxtop case which I really like but I originally screwed my mobo in too tight so it wouldn't start. I fixed that, but the PCI and AGP slots are a little too far away to fully plug in, so to fit my graphics card in by bending the small metal piece that you use to screw in the case. I am pretty sure it plugs into the mobo completely now because the fans and stuff work on it, but when I plug my monitor into the card it doesn't work. The monitor stays black, and if I turn it on and off it says "Monitor in power save mode. Activate using PC." This is not a monitor problem because I have tried two different monitors. I also doubt but do not rule out it being the gfx card because I have tried both a GeForce 4 Ti 4800 se8x and a Geforce FX 5700. What is confusing to me is if I have the monitor on without the cable plugged in it says "Check signal cable" which is not the same as when I plug it into the card. What do you think the problem here is? Thx.

Yeah. You definitely shouldn't have to bend anything for it to fir properly. In fact, the word "bend" is a bad thing to associate with electronics such as those in a compuer. :p
