AGP aperature/speed trouble with k8n neo

edited December 2004 in Hardware
when i set the AGP aperature to any value in the list, i still get 0MB AGP aperature in windows (acroding to 3dmark05). and weather the AGP speed is set to Auto/4x/4x8x, i get AGP off (acordin to ATI Catalyst)

Also when bootin i get an idle period of about 30seconds just as the windows boot screen apears, totalin in a boot time to just over 2mins. should i get that on my system specs?

Any advice or help would be well appritiated!

athlon 64 3200+
k8n neo platinum
radeon 9800pro

win xp sp2

you can set the aperture manually in the bios. just look in your bios for agp aprature size, there should be choice of different sizes, such as 32, 64, 128, 256, 512.

try updating your motherboard drivers in windows, and then if that doesn't work, the BIOS itself.

(mobo drivers includes chipset, AGP, and DirectX)

I have the same mobo, what BIOS are ya using?

Did you install all of the mobo drivers (nvidia gart driver)?

I can verify that the nForce and ATi dont get along.
    I have a Neo2 with a All-In-Wonder.
If you install the nvidia gart driver most things will work.
but some things will be unstable.
but not having the nvidia gart driver causes the issue you are talking about right now.
i'm currently looking for a solution to this issue without using nvidia gart.
if anyone knows how... post it here!

aside from the apparent nForce and ATI issues (which I have never had). Updating your BIOS is always a good idea especially revision 1.0 boards which yours would be.

How do you see what revision your mobo is?

    CPU-Z says Rev. A1
