totally freaking awesome. I had only 45 minutes to play this morning, but it was totally immersive, frightening, and intense. I love it i love it i can't wait to get home to play it.
Bought it on my dinner, and installing now. planning to play for 3-4 hours then its normal bed time. I'm guessing I wont be getting any sleep though...
I got in and played for a few hours, its really good but I dont like the way the pistol is more accurate than the SMG... Maybe there are some more guns that will fill the gap, guess I will find out.
It's always been like that - in original HL, I loved the starter pistol better than the SMG because I could headshot kill guys who were so far away that they couldn't hit me with THEIR SMGs...
I bought the game yesterday afternoon. Took a while to install it. When it started to connect to Steam, I prayed it would work - although it threw an error at me saying it cant register because Steam reg server isnt replying, it said I am able to play it anyway, then it started unlocking the game - which took over 10 minutes of my processor working hard
The game sucked me in, the story is great. But I still need to play around with the graphics settings for best performance vs. quality!
Running HL2 on a Ti4200 is brave. The card is getting quite dated, although in it's day, it was very solid.
I have to agree.
Although the game works smooth at medium settings, most settings in middle and 2x anti-aliasing. Although it might hiccup if theres shooting and blowing stuff up action - don't know, haven't gotten to any of these parts yet.
I need to tweak it still - probably will go for no antialiasing but 1280x1024 resolution. Will see.
Only problem I have right now is game hiccuping when there is speech, when someone talks to me the game starts pausing for 5 seconds then everything is back to normal. Using the built in sound card in my mobo. Though might have to put my SoundBlaster Live Value back in
Well... I got it early yesterday morning and played a lil bit then and then some this morning, I just got to the airboat sequence so we'll see how that goes, homework keeps showing up on my desk via my mom, lol - I guess it's more important.
I'm in ravenholm and I WANT OUT lol fun, scary. Not quite getting the hang of the anti-grav gun like I should tho. Keep throwing barrels into objects closer to me than I think I'm going to and have burnt most of the hair off Gordon's body now :O
pistol!?!?, lol who cares about pistol crowbar is the best man unless of course they are far away, but trusty crowbar takes care of business especially in Ravenholm.
I asked for it for xmas but didnt get it and by tht time iwas saving up for my ds, i will hopefully have it by june, i just want it for online really, the story is just a bonus
The original was so much better its criminal. It has NOTHING to do with Half Life, they should have had the guts to make a new game instead. What the hell does some made up eastern bloc city have to do with Black Mesa or Lamda?
The only original feature was a toy they made to show off with during demos which ended up being made part of the game just because the gameplay was so shallow without it.
Sorry, but I feel very strongly about this, Half Life 2 is not the game it should have been.
If you dont already have it pick up Call of Duty instead, then get Brothers In Arms if you have a fast machine. Forget Half Life 2, and dont even get me started on Steam, activation, and VUs fetish with dictating how you play the game you just purchased.

You must mean:
