Explorer error

Help Me!! When I try to access the control panel I get a small 1 Inch by 1 inch box popping up that says explorer error. I click OK on the box and control panel works fine. This does not appear to affect operation but is annoying!!

    The only times I've had that happen on a system were because of a corrupted .dll or a virus. Both times even after the virus was removed the only way to fix it was an install. In one case the repair install worked, the other needed a total clean install. Can't offer much more help then that as you haven't given more info to go on.

    I'll try looking for a virus or perform install. I'll let the group know how I made out.

    Thanks everyone, the problem was a virus or adware. the computer was so polluted it was hard to tell Thanks again
