MSI K7T Turbo ver 3 mobo came with no CMOS battery, questions..

edited December 2004 in Hardware
Just bought a user MSI K7T-Turbo KT133A chipset based mobo. Didn't notice untill i got home but it came without a CMOS battery, i've booted up computers with CMOS batteries before, i didn't have time to get to the store to buy one, can this one be booted with one? Also when I buy the new one, does the orientation of the new CMOS battery matter when it's put in the socket? I've looked at a bunch of pix of the board online, showing the rotation of the battery in multiple ways, such as..

and...

K7TL (slightly different

i never thought the rotation of the CMOS battery in it's socket mattered as long as it was snapped down firmly held in place by the retainer clip and not loose, but wanted to get others peoples opinions on the matter

Nope. Cmos batteries are pretty much universal. It's 3v. They do come in different thickness tho. As long as it makes contact and is firmly in the socket, there should'nt be any problems :)
