I have a nework printer HP6127, it is connected to my router (the 6127 has its own ethernet conn.) I want to prevent certain apps from printing to it ( aka my kids games). can this be done?

I doubt it. There may be special software that can be used to prevent certain apps from printing to it. But in general the Printer is controlled at the OS level so a computer either has access to it or it doesn't.

Now perhaps the better way to do it would be to create a seperate user for your kids that gives them access to only the stuff you want and in return you can make the printer unavailable to that user.

I do have them as a different user, where would the access options be located?

    BTW THANKS!!!

You should be able to just go into start setting printers and delete the printer from their user options. That should still leave the printer available for your user.

Yea, but their only 4.5, 3, & 1.5 years old, they don't quite get the concept that ink and paper cost money! they'll get over it. :)
