Windows XP - "1 Unread Message"?

edited January 2005 in Science & Tech
I am using Windows XP Professional. Recently, I found that on the log on start up page showing different users, it shows that I have "1 unread message". I don't know what exactly it means. I have checked all my e-mails. There is no unread message. Even before when I really had unread e-mails, they won't show in this way. Could someone please help me to get rid of that "1 unread message"?

I had the same annoying thing happen to me. It's because MSN integrates into the experience of Windows XP and the internet. If you're in MSN and are brought back to the users screen, without logging out, Windows XP will show you that unread email message. All you have to do is have the same MSN account open as before and without logging out, go to the users list. (Quick switch screen... I forget what it's called.) I think there is a way to disable it, but I don't remember. I'm not using XP right now. Good luck.

Oh sorry again. Even after reading and deleting the last e-mail, that "1 unread mail message" is still there.

Did you leave MSN Messenger connected when you went to the switch user screen?
