reactivating an old account!

edited January 2005 in Science & Tech
hi fellow pc lovers.

firstly thanks to all for reading this thread. i made a bit of a mistake. i set up a computer for my girlfriend, gave her an admin. account but she was downloading so much shit i decided to give her a limited account. i set up an admin account for myself, limited her account, went to switch accounts and oh no! not a sign of the admin. account to be seen.

how can i reactivate/reset her account (or set up a new admin account)??

please help! i have a new tv card, and can't load the drivers!

and if possible, can u be detailed, i am reasonable new to computers. thanks everyone!

If you mean no admin account at the login screen and are using winxp ctrl+alt+del will brin gup the login box as hawk said. The other way is pull the harddrive attach it as a slave to another computer and get the files you need off it. Then format start over.

thanks for all the help boys, tried everything so far, but nothing worked! the funny thing is, when i installed the tv card, it said i cant install under this account(the limited one), then it gave me 2 admin account options?? so the accounts are on the computer! wierd??

    anyway thanks again.

If you have TweakUI you should be able to show all the profiles in the Logon by clicking on the word logon. I'm running Pro so can't check if you have Home. I think you would have to go into safe-mode to get to the default Administrator for that one. There is always "run as"
