Problem with graphics, need help...

When I play any videogame using 3D graphics, like cs:source, hl2, need for speed underground ect... Everything's REALLY dark, like... it constantly looks like it's nightime, and pretty much, whenever anything's supposed to look even the slightest bit dark, it is for some reason, VERY dark... this problem also occurs when watching any movies on my computer.

I have a Radeon 9600, I've tried switching monitors, and it was dark on both of them. I have the new DirectX 9.0, I have the newest drivers for my videocard... I have NO idea what to do, and I'm about to go crazy, cause I straight up can't play source at ALL, because it's literately FAR too dark to play. Same with HL2.

So if anyone has any idea what to do, PLEASE help me out...

There are setting in the properties section of your video card's advance settings. You can adjust brightness there. Also the same with games and your DVD player's properties as well.

I have them on full brightness in all my games, but when I go into the games, it's really dark, so then I minimize the game, go to the desktop, and it's REAL dark, then when I go to adjust my display settings, it becomes light again, but then when I go back to the game, it's back to being dark. This is the most annoying problem... I'm so fucking pissed and confused about it.
