Need help overclocking

edited January 2005 in Hardware
I know, you guys can flame me later, but yes, I bought a new Dell XPS 4 machine.
It came with an Intel 3.4 GHz processor, NVIDIA GeForce 6800 256 MB PCIE, 512 MB ram. My BIOS is locked from changing any settings on the FSB or anything. Any help would be appreciated, and then you can flame me straight to hell for getting a Dell.

Try the Intel Overclocking Utility.I don't know how exactly its name is but look in intel's website.

I would never buy a pre-packaged rig, such as a dell, for myself...... But the XPS is VERY nice dood! :shoot:
Software OCing is your only option and your probably not going to be able to OC very much if at all if the mobo is not designed for it. Good luck and keep us posted!!!!1

Well, the mobo says Dell Inc., it's an intel i925X chipset, if you can do me some research on this Intel Overclocking Utility, and where to find it, it'd be very helpful.

Sry buddy, no oc for you with that board. Dell mobo's are strictly made to run stock. Unless you replace the mobo with ocing options in bios, there isn't much you can do about it. Tho that Dell XPS 4 is an xcellent machine, your ocing dreams with it are down the :kaka:
