    Only until x86 are the fastest chips we can mod, overclock or burn :)

    It won't impact the pc world because windblows is locked into x86 architecture with their opperating systems. If any adopter was to go that way I could see MAC's taking that route. Apple has never had a change adopting new technologies and just scrapping the old. But most likely this type of thing will only be seen if Sony starts to dump out Multi-Media Centre style appliances.
