Hey guys,

Having some problems running 3Dmark for some reason, keeps booting me out saying it can't initilize the card. Gonna do a full reinstall with drivers and such after all the fiascos and reinstalls cause of the CATS. What driver cleaning program do you guys find works the best?

DriverHeaven's driver cleaner, I believe is the name. I used it, worked wonders.

Um, what card??? The video drivers should uninstall fine, but you might be having DirectX issues if this is a brand new card. My video card does not 3D with DirectX 9.0, but DOES with DirectX 8.0b. Direct3D does not like the latest video card (yes, this is an older Radeon, by LAN I will have GF4 in that box that I got with a defective FAN on it and have one of those fans coming).

Also, depending on version, some 3DMarks do not like DirectX 9.0 too well either, they changed the draw routines a bit between 8.0 and 9.0 and also the AA and AF among other things. So, a card built for 8.0 will need 8.0 to 3D well at all and might have a driver version either unavailable or not fully debugged for 9.0. And DirectX CAN be reloaded as a module set, though Microsoft does NOT want you to know that.

Rage3D's FoolProof Catalyst Removal Guide contains links to the RegCleaner I use and how to manually remove your drivers. Very handy. :)
