Is this really necessary ?
Is it for folks who don't know how to stop active applications ?
Why not learn how then ?
Why do you want to deal with such a messy desktop and out of wack window positions ?
Going from 1024 x 768 32 bit to 640 x 480 256 color sucks.

Safe mode loads only the nessecary services to go into windows. This is very useful like when you load wrong drivers for graphics card and can`t get into normal mode beacuse there is only black screen or something like that. Sometimes i find it very useful. Also using safe mode you can remove some ads that cannot be removed normaly....

It's also extremely usefull to boot up without anything loaded if you have memmory or page fault issues because stopping the applications after they've already loaded in normal mode is pointless some applications can't be stopped and others won't give up the resources even after they are halted.

OMG wacked drivers and spyware will SUCK up the resources and make it almost imposible to get rectify the problem unless you use safe mode!

If ya don't need it, great!

Hehehehe, There's been many times where I've had to use safemode to straighten things out on my pc's. And it's not that hard to reset your desktop properties. It's a lifesaver when you need it.

There is a right time and an unnecessary time,so it's a matter of learning where your at.Some things can be solved in safe mode and some can't.
    EG:Video
A new video card insert will take you to a similar state, people actually ask
"Why do i only have 256 or 16 colors. What is wrong.
You need to be in Normal mode to fix this, right ?

What? You can set the video mode in safe mode for a video card but it won't take effect unless you are in normal mode.

Plus you are the one that started this thread suggesting safe isn't neccessary. We were merely telling you that it is.

    Edit it to
Is it "always" necessary,i'm not perfect.
Do some users ignore "shut down all active apps before you do this ?
Then post a help me thread on why i can't install something ?
Remember Safe Mode states "Windows will install a minimal set of drivers"
Thats not where i do my installing, just troubleshooting.
Sometimes thats not enough for what you want to do or fix.
All of us here know our way around, try to understand someones first day with this big box of hardware.
Problem is admitting this by some.

    You're confusing. But, anyway...

Sometimes, due to driver conflicts and other errors that may occur, you're not able to boot into windows normally. It may blue screen from an issue with a recent install, and the only way to bypass that is to boot into safe mode. Safe mode won't load that driver/application, as that is its purpose: to load only the necessary things to run windows and only windows. Becuase of this, you can remove the offending program/driver and then boot normally.

    I didn't say that but
    Is it "always" necessary
I was refering to Startup offering it and saying no,use normal.
It takes time to get it all explained i guess but i'm surprised it did though.
