Can I move OS form PATA to SATA Disk

I have a PC set up with the OS on an 80 gig PATA drive. The mainboard also supports SATA and I would now like to move the OS to a WD Raptor drive on the SATA channel.
How can I move the OS intact from the old drive to the new logical drive?
I have the Ghost program. Is it possible to use it to image the old drive and transfer it to the new drive and then boot the OS from the new drive?
The OS is WinXP Pro.

Thanks,

Ben

Honestly the best way is to just try it and find out. Ghosting it over won't hurt the current drive that it's on and you can always reformat the SATA drive.

It should work...if it doesn't you can delete the hard drive resources in safe mode and then reboot and it should work.
