xp cd?

edited February 2005 in Science & Tech
Every once in a while since very recently after installing limewire, a pop uo comes up and says something like, some versions of files may have been replaced please insert xp porfessional cd to repair these files, and when I did, my computer would not start up, neither in safe, nor normal, and when I selected the load most recent settings that worked, it jus hung and never loaded, none ever loaded, so how do i get rid of this? Any suggestions? And the restore point totally ruined it when I tried to go back. This is the second time I have had to repair my installaion of windows.

    I'd suggest don't use limewire.

Took limewire out, with some java program, and I also reinstalled my Antivirus software, turns out it found 142 viruses. :jelly:

I've used limewire for quite a while now and never had a problem.

The program itself may not be the cause but if you grab the wrong thing you can get hammered. Like any p2p sharing program.
