Sysprep Administrator Password

edited February 2005 in Science & Tech
Hello All:

I am creating an image, and I am using Microsoft Sysprep to prepare the image for deployment. I have created a sysprep.inf file to automate some of the functions. Part of the INF file has youset up the administrators password. I want to use a particular password, and I encrypt it. When sysprep runs on a newly cloned machine, the password is not recognized, and prompts the install for a new password. If I run the smae INF file, but change the Admin password to not encrypted, the sysprep recognizes the password and all is fine. Why doesn't sysprep recognize the encrypted password?

because the encrypted password is sent as the encrypted text and the new machine doesn't know how to decode it.
