Of audio driver and advanced mixer controls

I haf an nforce based mobo on my other desktop and also a sound blaster live! soundcard. i've seen that no matter what card it is from Creative...they alwayz enable the advanced controls like bass and treble in the windows mixer. however i hafnt seen this in the nvidia soundstorm mcp-d driver. but they provide an excellant utility called nvMixer that exploits all the feature of the mcp.

my laptop has a connexant-ali ac-link audio. i've tried drivers from connexant and ALi. but the bass and treble controls r not enabled. my question is...is there any modification in driver inf file possible to unlock these two controls?? it greatly enhances the audio as of what i haf seen. also if modding inf is not possible are there any volume mixer software available which can control global bass and treble levels??

There is nothing that you can do laptop speakers generally are designed to crank bass or trebbile for that matter. You can contorl them from within most audio players through the mixer settings but there are no global bass boosters. Keep in mind they are only 1 channel speakers so they aren't really capable of much.

what do u exactly mean by "1 channel" speaker? didnt get it. and what i wanted was not to enhance the inbuilt laptop speakers. even when i connect external speakers the same song wid the same speakers sound a hell better on the desktop wid all the special fx disabled except the bass and treble enhancement. can we edit the driver inf file (coz i rememb seeing the bass and treble n some 3d parameter in the inf file) to enable this features??

1 channel no directional proccessing just a loud speaker it's got no tweeter in it
External speakers hook up like headphones the laptop doesn't know the difference.
You can check the driver inf file I wouldn't know what it's called but it's probably not an option for your sound card and that's that.

Whats the big deal ? You answered your own ?
Use a SB,but if you have a good look you'll see it depends on how many speakers you have.Use you desktop system and 5.1 for reality.
A notebook is a business tool.
