    Control Panel, User Accounts, Change an account----click on the account you want to change and in there you can change the name.
    Is that what your looking for?

    Hawk, unfortunately, this doesn't work as this will not let me change the name. When I set up XP I didn't fill in a name so by default I am administrator.

    Can I not change the name i the registry?

    First click on create a new account. Make it an adminisration account with your name. Then after that is set up you can delete the admin account without the name. You always have to have an admin account active or it won't let you change the one.

    I don't think deleting the admin account will work because you need the admin account if you were to use the recovery console.

    One way you can rename the admin account is through the local security policy.

    Click Start -> Run.

    Type in the run box gpedit.msc

    Expand Computer Configuration -> Windows Settings -> Security Settings -> Local Policies -> Security Options

    Double-click on Accounts: Rename administrator account

    Type in the name of the admin account, click OK and restart your PC.

    Vers, I think that will work too. But, thats why I told him to make a new admin account with his name and then delete the old admin account that doesn't have a name.

    I tried the gpedit.msc and it worked great I will try the other (delete) way when I get a few minutes. All my user accounts let me change the name.

    Thanx again
